I have always loved drawing and design – particularly the hands-on element of translating a sketch plan into working designs that my client can visualise.
Watching the project evolve and collaborating with the Architect, the builders and our client to fulfil a vision is incredibly rewarding. We all bring a unique perspective to a project, and at times different points of view, but we’re all committed to achieving a great result for our client.
I like simple, honest architecture and have a special interest in mid-century design. Architecture in the 50s and 60s was pared back and well thought out. It was considered design in which the way people lived and interacted with their environment was the driving element, rather than building a house for the sake of it and then expecting the owners to adapt their lifestyle to it.
My entire career has been spent working around buildings and architecture. I have 20 years’ experience as a builder and feel this hands-on experience allows me to create a design that’s not only creative and beautiful, but also pragmatic and liveable.
